I’m Greta, a screenwriter and director from Melbourne, Australia.

I love the coming-of-age genre, and believe coming-of-age applies to all stages of life. I’ve even made few coming-of-age short films:

  • Locker Room (Premiered at MIFF 2017, over 10mil views online via Omeleto and Short of the Week)

  • Two Piece (Tropfest 2018 Winner)

  • Heart Throb (Best Australian Short at Setting Sun Film Festival, 2024)

I like grounded, character-driven stories, and my current work explores alternative experiences of girlhood, the effects of internet and social media, queer relationships, chosen families, mental health, and self discovery. My first feature screenplay, School Camp, combines many of these themes and is currently in development with Screen Tasmania.

I also have a sense of humour (I promise) and like to make people laugh. I can slide the scale from full-blown, laugh-out-loud, irreverently silly comedy, all the way back to naturalistic drama with moments of occasional lightness.

Some other things I’ve done include:

  • VicScreen’s Originate Series program (completing a 9-month UCLA screenwriting for television course, writing two original pilots, and participating in professional writers rooms)

  • Directors Attachment on Netflix’s Run Rabbit Run (supported by Screen Australia)

  • Directors Attachment on AMC’s Preacher S4 (supported by VicScreen)

I’m currently freelancing as a screenwriter and notetaker, as well as a commercial director. I’ve made work for clients such as World Vision, Libra, Respect Victoria, Cadbury, Disney Australia, Our Watch, and more.

Thanks for stopping by.

Say hello here ~

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, culture, and storytelling. I live and work on the stolen country of the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the East Kulin Nation and pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
